For BMW's B58 3.0L turbocharged engine, we wanted to look beyond the limitations of the factory intake architecture.
As engine speed and load increase, so does the demand for airflow. Reducing unnecessary restriction and improving airflow delivery became the foundation of the MST BW-X303 design.
Our approach wasn't simply to make the intake bigger.
It was to rethink the entire path air takes before reaching the turbocharger.

More room to breathe. More room to grow.
To support the B58's increasing airflow demands, we developed an oversized 152mm (6-inch) intake configuration, designed to increase available intake area and reduce potential airflow restriction.
The enlarged architecture provides additional airflow headroom, particularly as engine speed and load increase, helping support the B58's performance potential.
But size alone was never the objective.
Every millimeter of the intake system needs to serve a purpose.

A larger intake means little if the airflow path remains restrictive.
That's why our engineering approach extends beyond the intake opening.
The BW-X303 features a redesigned intake routing configuration that extends toward the turbocharger inlet, with careful consideration given to airflow transitions, pipe geometry, and component connections.
By refining the airflow path and minimizing unnecessary restrictions, the system is designed to help air travel more efficiently toward the turbocharger.
Because true intake performance isn't defined by a single component.
It's defined by how the entire system works together.

Performance engineering should look as purposeful as it functions.
For the BW-X303, we deliberately embraced a bold, muscular design language.
The oversized intake structure, substantial contours, and aggressive geometry complement the mechanical character of the B58 engine bay.
Rather than creating something that looks like an aftermarket addition, we wanted the system to feel naturally integrated into the engine's architecture.
Every curve and every transition was considered not only for its function, but also for its visual presence.
The result is an intake system that looks right at home under the hood.
